Spotlight On:
Tank and The Bangas

For the second edition of our ‘Spotlight On’ series, we went to New Orleans and gatecrashed our friends Tank and The Bangas whilst they were recording a live performance for the launch of their brand new Friend Goals EP.

We talked about the band's creative process during Covid, their approach to custom/bespoke writing for TV, their favourite shows and who is on their wish list for artist collaborations. We even found out which Sesame Street character each of them would be! Then as a surprise and exclusive treat they performed an original holiday song they have written especially for your listening pleasure, which you can download in the link below along with other favourite tracks from their catalogue.

Having been crowned winners of NPR Music’s Tiny Desk contest, Tank And The Bangas went on to sign a major label deal, release their sophomore album “Green Balloon” last year, make an appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show, grace the coveted September issue of Vogue and receive a nomination for Best New Artist at the 2020 Grammy Awards. Their music has been featured in, and they have written original composition for, shows including Central Park, Sesame Street, Empire, Being Mary Jane, Adult Swim and Twenties
